Galang, Jojo, April, and family
Children: Mutya and Amya.
My name is Abrillo “Jojo” Galang. I am 39 years old and the fifth of six siblings. I am married to April Rodesma Galang, who is an Occupational Therapist with children with special needs. We also have two daughters, Mutya and Amya.
I was in grade school when I first heard the story about Jesus and His love for me through a group of Filipino missionaries in our community. In 1990 at Lupang-Pangako, Payatas, Quezon City, I surrendered and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. After college, I got involved with an urban poor church in Payatas as a youth Pastor, and the director of an evangelistic youth camp. This helped me grow in faith. Then in 2005, I became a global servant of Companion With the Poor (formerly Mission Ministries Philippines).
For over 15 years now, I have been serving the Lord in the urban poor ministry with Companion With the Poor (CWTP). CWTP is a faith mission organization doing holistic ministry among the poor. Its thrust is to plant sustainable faith communities among the slums of Metro Manila and nearby areas.
Currently, I am assigned at the relocation area in Southville 4, Sta. Rosa Laguna. Together with my team we do outreach, small groups, livelihood training, community survey, free medical and dental missions, and feeding programs for children. Since 2005, I have been involved and planted six urban poor faith communities.
