STORIES FROM THE SLUMS

Hugo Perez Cavite Team – July 2017

5Ministry Highlights

On June 30, 2017 our team turned over the church to our partner Victory Christian Church in Golden Horizon, Brgy. Hugo Perez. Our partner pastor Elvin Tarazona gave us a plaque of appreciation for all the hard work we’ve shared during our two years of ministry work in the area. Some highlights during worship service are the ladies and children who presented their song numbers.

After the worship they served lunch for the team and had fellowship with the church members. Praise God for His guidance and protection for our team that we finished our church planting mission in the area. At present, the church has men’s Bible study where each one of the men alternately facilitates their Bible study and fellowship every Sunday afternoon. Two of the ladies, Sis. Helen and Sis. Aisa, have their own bible study group respectively, and every Saturday morning the church has a feeding program using manna pack for 25 children at Ilat. The church has a total of 5 active Bible study groups (4 home Bible study groups and 1 men Bible study group), 2 youth cell groups, children’s ministry, and feeding program.

According to our strategic plan and goals, we are on target. Our partnership with the Victory Christian Church will end this July. For now our team will have a month-long break and while on break, we will take time to find another ministry area. The team is looking forward to transfer to another area in Cavite. We are giving back all the glory and honor to our Lord God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Prayer Concerns:

1.    For Matthew, Pastor Ronnel’s son, not to lose hope in looking for a job as an aircraft technician graduate (most of the company he    applied for is looking for work experience)
2.    Need for additional team member
3.    God’s provision on our families, spiritual strength, physical health and additional financial support
