STORIES FROM THE SLUMS

Pastor Sonny Team- August 2017

Pastor Sonny and his team has been praying for God’s direction to where their start planting church. Although there were numbers of potential community to start a church planting, still they are depending in God’s leading where the field is ready for harvest.

Last August 3, 2017, three from the CWTP ExeComm, Ptr. Sonny , Ptr. Eric and Ptr. Winston together with Atty Chu and the donor, visited the 1.5 hectare property in Tiaong, Quezon Province. The donor decided to use the property for a cause.  That’s why we visited it to determine what are we going to do in this property. It may be used as a camp site or place of silent prayer in the future.

Last August 6, 2017, Bro. Sonny Besmonte and her wife Grace visited two possible areas in Bocaue and Sta Maria, Bulacan with Ptr. Dan Castillo and their workers. First, we visited the resettlement area in Sta. Maria. More than five thousand families lives there, the community is seven years old plus they already have lots of improvement in the community; this will not pass our standard. The second one is in Bocaue, the area is beautiful, but the families living there are only more than 30 to 50 families, again it will not be approved as potential church planting area.

The team continues to pray for the possible new area ministry. Even though we don’t have area yet, we are busy doing ministry in our respective sending churches. Sis. Queenie and Sis. Oseth help the youth group discipleship, Bible study and worship program. Ptr. Sonny continually holds mothers’ discipleship in their church, Saved to Serve Christ Church in Tatalon, Quezon City, with the help of his wife Grace, every Friday at 8pm in different houses.
Prayer concerns
1.    God’s provision for the team, good health, strength, and readiness to plant a new church.
2.    The new potential church planting area in Cavite. The team is planning to visit two areas in Kawit and Bacoor, Cavite.
3.    For the CBAP partners to be willing to plant a church in the poor community and adopt our lectio divina prayer.
