I am Philip Sim. I grew up in a Christian family and when I was a child I was very active in Sunday school and other programs that were connected with our church. As years went by, God placed on me a burning desire to serve Him. As time went on, I developed a bad health condition, and later discovered that it was stage one leukemia. During this time, my parents at times had to prevent me from attending some fellowships and gatherings at the church, though I knew that if I continued to be faithful and attend these fellowships, that God would heal me. All I needed to do was continue to take the initiative to continue to step out in faith.
By the grace and mercy of God, I am thankful today because God did completely heal me of my sickness, that had peaked in 2007 with the stage one Leukemia. Today I can say with confidence that I am following after God’s will and I believe that God has already arranged a future for me. All I need to do is what I have done all along, trust God and continue taking the initiative to step out in faith as He leads me.
I am grateful for the past six months of training with Mission Ministries Philippines, and am looking forward to continuing to trust in the Lord through serving Him by planting churches and sharing the Good News of Jesus with the urban poor. Wherever and whenever he leads me, I will go!
